Materials

Oddments of Patons 100% Cotton DK

I used red 2115, white 2691 and raffia 2714

Oddments of Light Worsted #3 Cotton Yarn

4.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - 9dc and 4 rows of dc’s measures approx 2” x 2”

Pot Holder - (Made in rounds without turning) With 4.00mm hook and red color yarn ch6,

join with a sl st to first ch to form a ring, work ch1, * 1sc, ch3 in ring * rpt from * to * 7 more times, sl st to first sc on beginning of round.

Round 2 - sl st in first ch3 space, work ch3, 1dc, ch2 2dc in same ch3 space, * 2dc in

next ch3 space, 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * twice more, 2dc in next

ch3 space, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off.

Round 3 - Join in white color yarn to any corner, work ch3, 2dc, ch3, 3dc in same space

on corner, * (2dc in space between next two 2dc groups), twice, 3dc, ch3, 3dc in ch2

space on corner, * rpt from * to * twice, (2dc in space between next two 2dc groups),

twice, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round.

Round 4 - sl st across first 2dc and in the ch3 space on corner, work ch3, 2dc, ch3,

3dc in same space on corner, * 2dc in next space between 3dc and 2dc groups, 2dc in space between next two 2dc groups, 2dc in next space between 2dc and 3dc groups,

3dc, ch3, 3dc in ch3 space on corner, * rpt from * to * twice, 2dc in next space between

3dc and 2dc groups, 2dc in space between next two 2dc groups, 2dc in next space

between 2dc and 3dc groups, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off.

Round 5 - Join in raffia color yarn to any corner, work ch3, 2dc, ch3, 3dc in same space

on corner, * 2dc in next space between 3dc and 2dc groups, (2dc in space between next two 2dc groups) twice, 2dc in next space between 2dc and 3dc groups, 3dc, ch3, 3dc in

ch3 space on corner, * rpt from * to * twice, 2dc in next space between 3dc and 2dc

groups, (2dc in space between next two 2dc groups), twice, 2dc in next space between

2dc and 3dc groups, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round.

Round 6 - Change to 4.50mm hook, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc, working 3sc in each ch3 space on corners, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Fasten off.

Round 7 - Join in white color yarn to first sc, ch3, 1dc in each sc to end, working 2dc, ch2, 2dc in centre sc on each corner, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off.

Round 8 - Join in Red color yarn to first dc, ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, working 5dc in ch2 space on each corner, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off.

Loop - With WS of work facing re-join Red color yarn to centre dc on any corner with a

sl st, work 8ch, sl st to same dc on corner to form a ring. Turn. Working on RS ch1, work 10sc in 8ch ring, sl st to same dc on corner. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends of yarn.
