The following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:

#10 Bedspread Cotton
Steel Hook Size 1
6-8" piece of 1/4" ribbon
Small amount of Pink Yarn for Face
Drinking Straw
Cotton ball or small amount of polyfil
Yarn needle

Stitches: ch, sc, scdec2tog.

Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM


EARS (make 2)

R1: Ch3, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in last ch. (2sc)

R2: Ch1, turn. 2sc in ea sc. (4sc)

Rs3-6: Ch1, sc in ea sc (4sc)

R7: (ScDec2tog) twice (2sts)

R8: ScDec2tog. (1 st)

EDGE: Ch1, turn. Sc evenly around entire ear. Join with sl st and fasten off.

HEAD

R1: Ch9, join to form a ring. Ch1, do not turn. Sc in ea ch. Join with sl st.

R2: Ch1, do not turn. Sc in ea sc.

R3: Rep R2 (9sc)

R4: Ch 1, do not turn. 2sc in ea st. (18sc)

R5: Ch 1, do not turn. Sc in ea sc.

Rs6-13: Rep R5.

R14: (ScDec2tog) around. (9sts)

Fasten off leaving an 8" tail which will be used to sew the ears on.

Fold top opening flat. Insert one ear into opening. Thread the 8" tail through the yarn needle and sew through the front, ear and back to secure the ear with a couple of stitches. Position the other ear and sew it the same way. This closes the top of the head.

Stuff a cotton ball or polyfil into the head and insert the drinking straw. Tie the ribbon around the neck.

Weave in ends.
