Daniel the Spaniel is a very obedient and lovable hound! He comes fully house trained and promises not to sleep on your bed (unless you let him!).

He’s even got a girlfriend, Lucy the Labrador, although he gets very embarrassed when you ask him about her!

An easy to follow, delightful pattern for your very own Daniel the Spaniel.

The pattern is 9 pages long and contains over 30 pictures to help you along the way. I have also included a little tutorial on how to knit the loop stitch (for his spaniel-esque ears) and how to gather a cast on seam if these techniques are not familiar to you.

If you get stuck with the loop knitting then I have included an alternative instruction to knit a non-fluffy ear using garter stitch (all knit) instead.

There is a small amount of intarsia but nothing that should get you worked up into a frantic knitting frenzy! Again, if you prefer to knit his head and body in one plain colour then that works just fine too! For those that like charts I have included one for the intarsia work on the body.

Skills Required- knit, purl, increasing and decreasing, casting on and off, intarsia (optional), loop knitting (optional and tutorial included), basic sewing skills

Materials required - 3.25mm knitting needles, brown and cream DK yarn, safety eyes, safety nose, toy stuffing, black embroidery floss, blunt ended sewing needle, invisible or matching sewing thread, fine gauge sewing needle, dark brown felt

Your finished Daniel the Spaniel will be 15cm/6in high.
