Shell and diamond knitted lace edging
Note: the loops on the bottom of the sample lace are larger than they should be. The pattern below is correct.

Cast on 29sts

1st row: Slip 1, k1, (yo, k2tog) 4 times, k6, yo, p2tog, k1, yo twice, k2tog, k6, yo, p2tog.

2nd row: yo, p2tog, k8, p1, k1, yo, p2tog, k16.

3rd row: Slip 1, k2, (yo, k2tog) 4 times, k5, yo, p2tog, k10, yo, p2tog.

4th row: yo, p2tog, k10, yo, p2tog, k16.

5th row: Slip 1, k3, (yo, k2tog) 4 times, k4, yo, p2tog, k1, (yo twice, k2tog) twice, k5, yo, p2tog

6th row: yo, p2tog, k7, p1, k2, p1, k1, yo, p2tog, k16.

7th row: Slip 1, k4, (yo, k2tog) 4 times, k3, yo, p2tog, k12, yo, p2tog.

8th row: yo, p2tog, k12, yo, p2tog, k16.

9th row: Slip 1, k5, (yo, k2tog) 4 times, k2, yo, p2tog, k1, (yo twice, k2tog) three times, k5, yo, p2tog.

10th row: yo, p2tog, k7, (p1, k2) twice, p1, k1, yo, p2tog, k16.

11th row: Slip 1, k6, (yo, k2tog) 4 times, k1, yo, p2tog, k10, slip the last st just worked back onto the left hand needle and slip 6sts over it, yo, p2tog

12th row: yo, p2tog, knit 9, yo, p2tog, k16.

Rows 1-12 form pattern. Repeat for desired length.
