I have added some pattern notes and reworded the main egg cozy part of the pattern. I could see that some people found it confusing before, so I hope I have made it easier to understand. I am happy to answer any questions - just send me a PM.

This pattern is for a basic egg cosy, which can be adapted in any way you can think of. There are additional details to show how to make the ones in the photo.

The main egg shape is made using slip stitch, which is what gives it the ribbed look. It is very stretchy so will fit around most eggs. However, as it stretches, it gets a little shorter, so if you want it to go round a much larger egg than a hen’s egg, you should add more chains to the starting ch, and add the same amount to each row too.
